Mangaluru, Nov 25: The Mangaluru District and Sessions Court has granted bail to Chinnayya, the prime accused in the Dharmasthala village skull case. The court approved bail on a bond of Rs 1 lac and imposed 12 strict conditions.
Following the interim chargesheet filed by the SIT, the advocate representing Chinnayya, who was in judicial custody in connection with the Burude conspiracy, had moved a bail application before the district court.

While granting bail, the judge directed that the accused must not leave the district or the jurisdiction of the court without prior permission. He has also been barred from giving statements or interviews to the media, including social media platforms, regarding the case. The court instructed that all conditions be strictly followed.
Chinnayya was arrested on August 23 after an extensive investigation in the Burude case. On September 6, he was remanded to judicial custody and shifted to Shivamogga jail.
Bail conditions imposed on Chinnayya:

He must not engage in any similar offences in the future.

He must not abscond or leave the area to evade trial.

He must not threaten, bribe or influence witnesses in any manner.

He must not destroy or tamper with documents or evidence related to the case.

He must cooperate with the investigation officer, appear when summoned and must not impede the investigation.

He must be present in court on all dates directed by the court.

The accused and the surety must furnish proof of address — Aadhaar card, voter ID or similar documents.

Any change of address must be promptly communicated to the court.

He must provide his mobile number, WhatsApp contact, email ID and all available contact details to the court.

After being released on bail, he must visit the police station on alternate days and sign the relevant register until the chargesheet or final report is filed.
