Mangaluru: Dammam flight cancelled at last minute; passengers face hardship

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Nov 24: Passengers faced major inconvenience on November 22 night after Air India Express cancelled its scheduled Dammam-bound flight from Mangaluru International Airport at the last minute.

The flight, originally scheduled to depart at 11.10 pm, was first rescheduled to 11.45 pm and then postponed again to 1.40 am. Passengers were later informed that the flight had been cancelled.

Travellers said they received no assistance from the airline staff at the airport. They complained that there was no drinking water, no food, and no proper guidance. They also alleged that for a long time, no arrangements were made to send passengers back home.

I hope the Government of India gives permission for some foriegn Airlines to operate in Mangalore , like Salaam Air, Air Arabia etc. Then our carries will have some ethics to manage puntual operations.

Since change of management from Air India to Tata group, the service has ben going from bad to worse ! High time the government (political leaders ) comes out to help public to have direct and regular flights especially to and from some GCC countries. Else allow foreign Airlines to come to the rescue. People ready to pay but not worthy to suffer inconvenience caused due to careless or easy going operations.

Why Air India Express flights are so careless? At least leave other airlines to start from Mangalore International Airport. Cancellation of the trip is always in their schedule?
