Kadaba, Nov 21: A resident of Kuduluru, Isaaq, has earned widespread appreciation after voluntarily taking it upon himself to fill potholes along the 4-km stretch of the Golithtadi–Enithadka–Kuduluru road, located under the jurisdiction of Kaila and Ramakunja gram panchayats in Kadaba taluk. He single-handedly filled the potholes by gathering soil from the roadside hill and levelling the damaged portions in two days.
Isaaq, who earns his livelihood by peeling arecanut, has received praise from commuters. Many who passed by stopped to offer him tender coconut water, tea, and snacks in appreciation of his service.

Though the road has undergone patchwork several times, recurring potholes have continued to make the route unsafe, especially since thousands of vehicles use it daily. Even after patchwork carried out last summer, and again during the start of the monsoon, new potholes emerged in other spots, leaving the road in poor condition.
The Golithtadi–Enithadka–Kuduluru road is a key link to several areas including Kakve, Budaluru, Kolya, Sabaluru, and Parangaje, but has long suffered from pothole formation throughout its length.
Under the Chief Minister’s Pragathipatha scheme, proposals have been submitted for improving nine roads in the Sullia Assembly constituency. This includes a 3-km stretch of the Golithtadi–Enithadka–Kuduluru road up to Triveni Circle. MLA Bhagirathi Murulya has assured that approval for the project is awaited.
