Chennai, Nov 13: The excitement surrounding Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Jailer 2 just got bigger! The latest buzz from Kollywood confirms that acclaimed actress Meghana Raj Sarja has joined the ensemble cast of Nelson’s much-awaited sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Jailer.

Meghana, who last appeared in the Tamil film Nanda Nanditha (2012), is making a powerful comeback to Tamil cinema through this pan-Indian action entertainer. Known for her stellar performance in Tatsama Tadbhava and her state award-winning role in Iruvudellava Bittu (2018), the actress continues to stay active in the Kannada film industry, with Buddhivantha 2 awaiting release.

Her addition to Jailer 2 has sparked fresh excitement among fans across South India. Sources reveal that Meghana has already joined the film’s sets and has been shooting for the past few days, though the makers have kept her role tightly under wraps.

Produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 brings back the original’s powerhouse cast — Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa, and Kannada star Shiva Rajkumar. The sequel will also reportedly feature Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, SJ Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, and Santhanam in pivotal roles.

Apart from this high-profile Tamil venture, Meghana continues her Kannada projects, including Amartha, directed by Srinagar, and Ottakomban in Malayalam, alongside Suresh Gopi.

With Jailer 2 poised to be one of the biggest cinematic events of the year, Meghana Raj Sarja’s return to Tamil cinema is being hailed as a defining chapter in her journey toward becoming a true pan-Indian actress.
