Mangaluru, Nov 2: A grand prize distribution ceremony was organised by VK Furniture & Electronics, one of the leading establishments in Mangaluru, at its Kallapu showroom in Thokottu on Saturday, November 1. The event was held to felicitate the winners of various online and photo competitions conducted during Independence Day, Krishna Janmashtami, and Navaratri celebrations.
More than 12,000 participants from regions spanning Uttara Kannada to Kasargod took part in the contests, which included the Independence Day Fancy Dress Online Competition, Radha Krishna Photo Contest, and Nav Varna Photo Contest, wherein women showcased traditional sarees in nine different colours over nine days.






























Speaking on the occasion, film actor Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, appreciated the initiative and said that VK Furniture & Electronics, through its five prestigious showrooms and three manufacturing units, has not only provided livelihood opportunities for thousands but also played a significant role in promoting local art and culture through creative contests.
Sathish Kumpala, district president of BJP, Dakshina Kannada, lauded the institution for successfully conducting large-scale competitions and recognising both winners and artistes. “VK Furniture has become a household name in Ullal and surrounding areas. The organisation has done commendable work in identifying talented artists along with the winners,” he said.
Guests of honour Remona Evette Pereira, Bharatnatyam artiste and Golden Book of World Record holder and Arshiya Khan, a Yakshagana artiste were also felicitated on the occasion.
The event witnessed the presence of K T Suvarna, former member of the Backward Classes Commission; Chandrahass Adyantaya, trustee of Deralakatte Ayyappa Swami Temple; Sandesh Shetty Kolke, entrepreneur; Vithal Kulal, chairman of VK Furniture & Electronics; and Vinutha Vithal Kulal. The programme was compered by journalist Chethan Shetty. The guests appreciated VK Furniture & Electronics for its continued efforts in keeping the region’s rich traditions and cultural heritage alive through such meaningful initiatives.
