Mangaluru, Oct 25: St Agnes School (CBSE), Bendore, Mangaluru, organised a one-day faculty enrichment seminar titled 'Empowering Educators: Handling Behavioural Concerns and Supporting Slow Learners' on October 24.

The session aimed to equip teachers with effective strategies to identify, understand and address behavioural challenges while providing meaningful support to slow learners within the classroom setting. The initiative highlighted the school’s commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment where every student is guided with empathy, patience, and purpose.

The programme commenced with a prayer, invoking divine blessings for wisdom and discernment. This was followed by a warm welcome by teacher Violet, who extended cordial greetings to the gathering and introduced the distinguished resource person, Sr Dr Vinora AC, coordinator of the postgraduate department, St Agnes College (Autonomous).

As a token of appreciation and respect, the vice principal, Sr Meena Fernandes AC, presented a potted plant to Sr Dr Vinora, symbolising growth, nurture, and continuous learning.

In her insightful and interactive session, Sr Dr Vinora emphasized the vital role of educators in shaping emotionally balanced and academically confident learners. She elaborated on the psychological dimensions of student behaviour, highlighting the importance of observation, positive reinforcement, and individualised attention.

Practical techniques for managing classroom behaviour and supporting diverse learning needs were shared, with a focus on empathy, communication, and collaboration. The session inspired teachers to view challenges as opportunities for transformation and growth - both for students and educators alike.
