Faridabad, Sep 14: Fortis Escorts Hospital, Faridabad has launched the region’s first dedicated Fever Clinic to provide focused evaluation, early diagnosis and timely treatment for patients suffering from seasonal and infectious illnesses.

The clinic was launched on September 11 and will operate from Monday to Saturday between 3 pm and 4 pm. It will be led by the hospital’s Internal Medicine team.

The initiative comes amid a rise in fever cases across the Delhi-NCR region during the monsoon and seasonal transition, with viral and vector-borne infections contributing significantly to the increase.

Focused care for fever

The clinic will cater to patients suffering from a wide range of acute and infectious conditions, including seasonal viral infections, dengue, malaria, chikungunya, typhoid, influenza/H1N1, fever of unknown origin, prolonged fever and other bacterial and infectious illnesses.

It will also provide care for fever among immunocompromised patients.

The facility brings several services under one roof, including dedicated fever consultations, specialised laboratory investigations such as complete blood counts and rapid diagnostic tests, pharmacy and medication support, day-care and observation facilities, emergency escalation and hospital admission referrals, along with structured follow-up.

Speaking on the launch, Dr Rajesh Kumar Budhiraja, Senior Director, Internal Medicine, Fortis Escorts Hospital, Faridabad, said fever can have different causes and timely assessment is particularly important during the monsoon and seasonal transition.

“Fever can have different causes, and timely assessment is important, particularly during the monsoon and seasonal change,” he said.

He added that the clinic would provide a focused point of care where symptoms could be assessed and appropriate tests advised. Early identification of warning signs, he said, could help patients receive timely hospital management when required.

Dr BN Singh, Director, Internal Medicine, said the initiative aims to make fever assessment and management “timely and more accessible” while helping identify potentially serious infections at an early stage.

Dr Anurag Aggarwal, Senior Consultant, Internal Medicine, said that while some fevers can be managed with timely medical advice, others may require closer observation or hospital care.

Dr Abhishek Sharma, Facility Director, said the clinic strengthens access to fever care in Faridabad and neighbouring regions by bringing consultation, investigations, observation, treatment support and follow-up together at a single point of care.
