Udupi, Sep 12: The excise department destroyed 2.794 kg of ganja seized in nine different cases at the biomedical waste management unit of M/s Ayush Enviortec Pvt Ltd, Nandikur Industrial Area, Padubidri, on Thursday.
The disposal was carried out in the presence of the Drug Disposal Committee, ensuring that the process did not cause any harm to the environment.
Mangaluru division joint excise commissioner Balakrishna C H, Udupi deputy excise commissioner Bindushree P, Mangaluru deputy excise commissioner T M Srinivas, Udupi excise superintendent Ashok H, and Satish Nayak, marketing manager of M/s Ayush Enviortec Pvt Ltd, were present.
