Brahmavar, Sept 10: Acting on credible information, Shankaranarayana police conducted a raid on government land in Amrakallu, Hiliyana village, Brahmavar, and arrested a man for allegedly selling liquor illegally.
The accused has been identified as Narayana Naik (43), son of Devanna Naik, and a resident of Amrakallu. He was reportedly selling liquor without a valid licence.
Police seized 70 tetra packs of liquor labelled “Mysore Lancer Whisky” along with Rs 430 in cash from his possession.
The total value of the seized items is estimated to be Rs 3,930.
A case has been registered at the Shankaranarayana police station, and further investigation is underway.
