St Theresa’s School students visit Pandeshwar head post office, philately centre

Media Release

Mangaluru, Sep 6: The grade 1 students of St Theresa’s School were taken on an enriching educational visit to the Pandeshwar head post office and its philately centre. The objective of the trip was to provide the young learners with first-hand knowledge of the means of communication and the functioning of a post office.

The students were warmly welcomed by the assistant postmaster, who gave them a detailed demonstration of how letters, parcels, and postcards are processed right from their collection in the iconic red letter box to stamping, sorting, and final delivery. Children were fascinated to observe the different services offered by the post office and were especially captivated by the wide range of stamps displayed at the philately centre.

The visit also featured a lively interactive session, where the young learners enthusiastically asked questions and clarified their doubts. Their excitement grew further as they clicked memorable photographs at the selfie counter, capturing moments of both joy and learning.

The visit turned out to be a perfect blend of fun and education, leaving the children with valuable insights into the role of the post office in connecting people across distances. It was truly an experience that broadened their horizons while sparking curiosity and appreciation for traditional communication systems.
