Karkala, Sep 5: A three-day entrepreneurship awareness programme was successfully conducted from September, 2 to 4 at MPM Government First Grade College of Professional & Business Management, Karkala. The event was organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Prerana, and the career guidance and placement cell, in collaboration with the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development of Karnataka (CEDOK).
The programme saw active participation from 70 final-year students of BBA, BCA, BCom (Logistics), and MCom, and aimed to instill entrepreneurial thinking and self-employment awareness among youth.









The event was inaugurated by Shivananda Yaligar, deputy director of CEDOK, Mangalore, who served as the chief guest. In his keynote address, he highlighted the growing importance of entrepreneurship in today’s economic environment and encouraged students to consider starting their own ventures.
Dr Suresh Rai K, principal of the college, presided over the event and emphasized the role of educational institutions in nurturing future entrepreneurs. Vinay M S, IQAC coordinator, Dr Subrahmanya K C, coordinator placement cell, Dr Avinash, Dr Sudarshan, Prasanna Kumar, and Bhagyalaxmi, were present for the programme and also Prithvi Raj from CEDOK coordinated this programme.
Jagadeesh, an experienced resource person conducted an engaging and activity-based session focused on creativity, problem-solving, and innovation. The following sessions covered topics such as idea generation, business planning, funding avenues, and government support schemes for start-ups.
Students expressed high levels of enthusiasm and appreciation for the practical insights shared during the programme. The event concluded on an optimistic note, igniting entrepreneurial aspirations among the participants.
