Udupi: Fishing boat capsizes, seven fishermen rescued off Kaup coast

Udupi, Aug 4: In a narrow escape from tragedy, a fishing boat carrying seven fishermen capsized near the lighthouse in Kaup, Udupi district. The incident occurred when the trawl boat, which had ventured out from Malpe for fishing, was hit by strong waves and overturned.

Thanks to the swift action of local fishermen, all seven crew members aboard the ill-fated vessel were rescued. Among those saved were Prashanth and Vinod, who were pulled to safety by fellow fishermen from the area.

The incident took place off the Kaup coast, and fortunately, no casualties were reported. The timely intervention helped avert what could have been a major disaster in the coastal waters of Udupi.
