Byndoor, Aug 3: Marking a significant milestone in its growth journey, MCC Bank Ltd inaugurated its 20th branch at Byndoor on Sunday, August 3, on the ground floor of Deepa Complex, Main Road, near Petrol Bank, Byndoor.
The branch was inaugurated by the chairman of MCC Bank, ‘Sahakara Ratna’ Anil Lobo, in the presence of distinguished guests, members of the community, and bank officials. The premises were blessed by Fr Vincent Coelho, parish priest of Holy Cross Church, Byndoor, who offered prayers for the success of the new branch.
















A key highlight of the event included the inauguration of the safe room by Babu Shetty, president of the managing commitee of Shri Mookambika Temple, Kollur. The e-stamping facility was launched by Fr Philip Nellivilla, principal of St Thomas Residential School, Byndoor.
Raju Poojari, former president, Udupi zilla panchayat, Sadashiva D Paduvari, nominated member, town panchayat, Byndoor, Kapsi Noor Mohammed, vice president, Shiroor gram panchayat, Nagesh Kharvi, president, Nadadoni State Association, Mobi P C president, Bar Association, Byndoor, were the guests of honour.
The programme commenced with a prayer song performed by the staff of the bank. ‘Sahakara Ratna’ Anil Lobo, chairman of the bank, in his presidential address, thanked the institutions and the general public of the area for their warm welcome, assistance, and cooperation extended to the staff during their visit to promote the Bank’s products and services.
He sought their continued support to help the branch achieve a turnover of Rs 10 crore within a year of its inauguration. He also urged them to become brand ambassadors of the bank in the Byndoor area.
The Bank operates under the supervisory control of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), and its deposits are secured by DICGC insurance. The bank has successfully doubled its turnover in just seven years since his Board took over the management of the bank in the year 2018. He informed the audience that MCC Bank offers all the services provided by other private and public sector banks. He added that despite various hurdles, hardships, and challenges, the bank continues to grow at a steady pace, largely due to the dedicated efforts of its management and staff.
Fr Vincent Coelho, while addressing the gathering, congratulated the management and staff for providing a customer-friendly ambience at Byndoor and invoked God’s blessings on the bank’s future endeavors. He referred to the bank as the 'Bank of the Society', highlighting its young and dynamic chairman with progressive vision. He also described it as the best co-operative bank, offering excellent customer service.
Additionally, he expressed his hope that the bank would be a boon to all sections of society, especially the poor and the downtrodden.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Philip Nellivilla lauded MCC Bank’s exceptional customer service and wished the institution continued expansion across Karnataka. He shared his personal experiences with the bank and praised its commitment to customer satisfaction. Babu Shetty thanked MCC Bank for establishing a branch in Byndoor and encouraged local residents to support its growth.
Raju Poojary, in his address, congratulated the bank and urged the staff to work diligently toward even greater achievements, assuring his continued support.
The bank took the opportunity to felicitate students from the Byndoor region who achieved outstanding results in the SSLC and PUC examinations, showcasing its dedication to community development. Nicola Roshni Dias from Byndoor, who has cleared her CA examination in her first attempt, was felicitated.
The customers who opened their accounts at Byndoor branch were felicitated.
In recognition of their contribution, office-bearers of various local associations were honoured. Special acknowledgments were given to Jagannath Shetty, owner of the new premises, and Karthik Kiran, civil engineer, for their roles in making the branch a reality. General manager Sunil Menezes introduced the newly appointed staff of the Byndoor branch to the audience. The dignitaries were presented with mementos as a token of gratitude by the chairman.
