Mangaluru, Aug 3: The 8th annual scholarship distribution programme organized by MCCQ Charitable Trust was held at Shanti Kiran Hall in Bajjodi on Sunday August 3.
Fr Praveen Leo Lasrado, secretary of the Catholic Board of Education, diocese of Mangalore, delivered the invocation and blessings for the event.
Denzil Christen Lobo, president of MCC Qatar, in his welcome note, welcomed the students and their parents and also briefed about the activities of MCCQ Charitable Trust.






















MCCQ Charitable Trust has been distributing scholarships for the past 7 years annually to meritorious students of Mangaluru and Udupi dioceses irrespective of their religious backgrounds. They contributed Rs 16.5 lac towards the same. This year they distributed scholarships worth Rs 3 lac to 25 students.
MCCQ Trust also provide medical assistance to patients in need in collaboration with Jewels Group, Mangaluru. Till date they have assisted 31 patients by contributing more than Rs 12 lac towards their medical care.
Fr Santosh Rodrigues, director of the Pastoral Institute, Bajjodi and Fr Praveen Leo Lasrado, secretary of the Catholic Board of Education, diocese of Mangalore gave their best wishes to students and also motivated them to continue the chain of helping others in the best possible way.
M P Noronha, principal district government pleader and advocate of Dakshina Kannada, was the chief guest for the event. He distributed the scholarships to students and also extended his best wishes to the students and their families.
Frederick D’Souza, MCCQ trustee proposed the vote of thanks.
The event was graced by Norbert Corda, Prakash Noronha, MCCQ trustees, Ryan Renjar, MCC vice-president, MCC public relations officer Meena Mascarenhas, Praveen Lobo of Jewels Group, Mangaluru and other senior members of MCC Qatar.
Floyd D'Mello Cascia was the emcee for the programme.
