Mangaluru, Jul 23: Vehicular movement between KIOCL Junction and the Kulur arch bridge on National Highway 66 has been severely disrupted due to ongoing road repair work. The situation has resulted in heavy congestion along the Panambur–Kottara stretch, with traffic jams now extending up to Baikampady.
To facilitate urgent repairs, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had announced a complete suspension of traffic on this stretch from 8 pm on July 22 to 8 am on July 25. Despite previous temporary fixes, the road has continued to deteriorate due to persistent rainfall, making conventional asphalting unviable. As a solution, NHAI is now undertaking paver block repairs.

In response to the situation, Mangaluru city police issued a traffic advisory for commuters. During the repair period, the new Kulur bridge will function as a two-way road to accommodate vehicles moving from Mangaluru towards Udupi.
Motorists have been advised to follow alternate routes and cooperate with the revised traffic arrangements to ensure safety and maintain smooth vehicular movement during the repair works.
