Kundapur: Four held for burglary at shop near market

Kundapur, Jul 19: Four individuals involved in a burglary at a shop near the Santhe market in Kundapur have been arrested by the local police.

The incident took place around 2:30 am on July 14, when the accused broke open the shutter of the shop and stole copper wires and brass items worth Rs 95,000.

The arrested have been identified as Sarfaraz (33), Zakir (36), Mohammad Alfaz (26) from Mangaluru, and Mohammad Riyaz (44) from Manjanady. They were apprehended at Santhekatte in Udupi.

The operation was carried out by Kundapur town police sub-inspectors Nanja Nayak, Pushpa, traffic SI Nuthan, and staff members Mohan, Santosh, Prince, Nagesh, Mahabal, Revathi, Ghanshyam, and Satish.

From the accused, police have seized 50 kg and 34 kg copper wires, 64 kg brass items, 20 kg aluminium articles, a fridge compressor, 45 old mobile phones, and the car used in the crime.
