Bantwal, July 15: The cultural community in Bantwal is in mourning following the sudden demise of Mounesh Acharya Mani (44), a well-known Tulu theatre artiste and comedian, who passed away due to a heart attack early Tuesday morning at his residence in Kapikad.

Mounesh, a multi-talented individual, was not only involved in the performing arts but also worked as a goldsmith and ran a small grocery shop near his home. He was widely admired for his humorous nature, down-to-earth personality, and commitment to community-based theatre.

A familiar face on the Tulu stage, he was actively involved with several cultural troupes, including Jayam Kala Niketan Mani and Kalamate Naganavalchil. He also performed in productions by the Tulu Appejoklu Kala Balaga, under the direction of Shantarama Kalladka, earning praise for his lively performances.

At the time of his passing, Mounesh was a key member of the Namma Kalavaru Nelyadi Tulu drama troupe. In recent years, he had gained a following for his appearances in comic videos alongside young artiste Sachin Mani, where his comic timing and expressions stood out.

Described as a friendly and creative soul, his unexpected death has left the local community, fellow artistes, and fans shocked and deeply saddened.

Mounesh is survived by his mother, brother, wife, and a young daughter, along with a large network of relatives and friends who are grieving his loss.
