Mangaluru: Auto-rickshaw driver returns gold bracelet worth over Rs 1 lac, praised for honesty

Mangaluru, Jul 12: In a commendable display of honesty, an auto-rickshaw driver from Mangaluru returned a gold bracelet worth over Rs 1 lac that he found lying by the roadside near the city’s Jeppu market.

Vamana Nayak, an auto-rickshaw driver from Mulihithlu, came across the bracelet, weighing approximately 17.5 grams, and used social media to trace its rightful owner. He successfully handed it over to Chandrhas K of Jeppinamogaru, earning widespread appreciation from the public for his integrity.

Recognizing his socially responsible act, the Dakshina Kannada District Auto Rickshaw Drivers’ Association expressed its admiration and announced that Vamana Nayak would be honoured by the association. This was confirmed by the association president, B Vishnumurthy.
