Mangaluru: Fresh clash in district jail as inmate attacks fellow prisoner in kitchen

Mangaluru, May 20: A fresh altercation broke out at the district prison here on Tuesday, May 20, after an inmate identified as Munir allegedly assaulted another prisoner who was engaged in cooking duties.

Reports suggest that the incident led to unrest inside the prison, as a group of fellow inmates attempted to retaliate against Munir following the attack.

Prison staff quickly intervened and managed to prevent the situation from escalating, ensuring Munir’s safety amid the commotion.

The Barke police visited the jail premises and reviewed the situation.
