MAC celebrates its 2025 Annual Family Social

Toronto, May 14: A progressive association MAC met a glamorous and vibrant community with an irresistible band, DJ and Emcee and the result was a blockbuster evening unparalleled in its celebration and ambience. Over 500 people gathered at the Annual Family Social organized by the Mangalorean Association of Canada (MAC) at Palacio Event Center, Mississauga on May 3.

The evening began with the MAC theme song, a song that offered its listeners a window into the beauty of not only the Canadian landscape but also into the history and the essence of the pioneer association. The annual event was an exceptional accomplishment with a fusion of activities and music. The Band Syndicate whose irresistible extraordinary music, riveting vocals, and masala songs surpassed all expectations and their exceptional music had people dancing with complete joy and abandon. DJ Joyson and DJ Ronan, with their own distinctive styles added an unmatched dimension to the programme and the emcee, Kenneth D’Souza managed the programme effortlessly and eloquently.

Whilst the appetizers were served, Louella Cardoza led the line dancing team to popular tunes and a special disco performance by Naach for Fun captivated the audience and had everyone applauding. The president, Everest Vijay Dante, welcomed all the guests and thanked them for attending the MAC Social. He also expressed his gratitude to the sponsors, volunteers and the ticket primes for their commitment and support. Sponsors are the pillars, source of encouragement, motivation and vital to any successful event and the generosity of numerous sponsors helped make the Family Social rewarding and fulfilling. With gratitude, MAC expressed its deepest and most sincere appreciation of the elite sponsors namely P K Sabharwal, president/broker of Record, Newgen Realty Experts and Ronald Colaco and family; platinum sponsors, Norman Karkadda, Erin Park Lexus and ICICI Bank Canada. 

A key part of the programne was the recognition of Aaron Reeve Mendes, a 12-year-old chess prodigy representing Canada who made history by becoming the youngest Canadian to earn the distinguished International Master title. Aaron has made his family, community and country proud and is an inspiration and role model to others that want to pursue and achieve their dreams and passion. MAC was deeply honoured to recognize him and present him a token of appreciation.

The amazing spot and door prizes were a welcome change from all the dancing and people rushed to check their tickets. The 50/50 raffle draw was a huge success as people supported the charities, the beneficiaries of half the collection. The charities were Covenant House Toronto and Catholic Children’s Aid Society. Jerson Marques was thanked who captured the event with his lens and helped create memories with his amazing pictures that will be treasured by all. Palacio Event Centre was also thanked for their scintillating decor and ambiance, the delicious appetizers, dinner and desserts thoroughly enjoyed by all the guests. MAC expressed its gratitude to the guests who attended the ‘Family Social’ and ensured its overwhelming success. MAC acknowledged and applauded the support, commitment and dedication of all its members and volunteers who worked hard to organize an event of this magnitude.
