Former Udupi MLA Raghupati Bhat expelled from BJP over ‘revolt’ against party

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (JD)

Udupi, May 25: Former MLA Raghupati Bhat has been expelled from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for revolting against the party's official candidate and contesting as an independent in the MLC polls.

This disciplinary action includes his relief from all party positions and an expulsion term of six years.

The Karnataka state BJP had earlier issued a notice to Raghupati Bhat, seeking clarification on his decision to contest independently in the southwest graduates' constituency.

The notice, signed by Lingaraj Patil, president of the state-level disciplinary committee, required Bhat to provide an explanation within two days.

All politicians worked very hard with a currency counting machine at home. This is the only thing they know in life. Once they are out of power means ...no more counting and collecting assets. That too with dadagiri Power. They can't live in this world without corrupt money and power.

Major political development in Udupi. A year ago nobody imagined this scenario. I am surprised that Swamiji did not involve or his advice ignored by both sides. He is not getting better position than Pramod even though he says he built the party in Udupi. But I’m sure he will be taken back to the party when dust settles. There’s no guarantee in political game.

BJP is scared, nervous and confused seeing there is formidable opposition growing like giant tsunami from candidates who are denied tickets. Destruction of BJP will by its own action and by its own people. Opposition is just enjoying the fruit of this outcome. BJP is doing everything for congress to win election. Congress is getting fired up by BJP back fire.

Whats this happening? Poor fellow was saying in one of his recent speeches that he respects bjp. Modi is like great leader. When he dies, he should be covered with the bjp flag. He worked hard for bjp why bjp is doing like this with him ? Bjp forgot hijab issue and sown poison amongst the communities....
