Valpoi, Sep 21: Stray and free-roaming cattle are increasingly being seen on roads, in markets and at public places across Sattari taluka, raising concerns among residents and motorists.
The problem has also been reported at the entrance of the government building in Valpoi, which houses several government offices and receives people seeking various public services.
Several cattle are often seen sitting near the main entrance of the building, while waste left behind by the animals has also been reported in the area. Vehicles parked around the entrance are further affecting the movement of employees and visitors.

Free-roaming cattle are also being spotted at various locations along roads in Sattari. The problem becomes particularly concerning during the evening and night when motorists may find it difficult to spot animals sitting on roads, especially in areas with poor lighting.
Motorists may have to slow down or change direction when cattle are found on the carriageway or near bends. Two-wheeler riders could face additional difficulties if animals suddenly move onto the road.
