Congress candidate J R Lobo files nomination from Mangaluru South constituency

Mangaluru, Apr 20: Former MLA J R Lobo filed his nomination papers for the upcoming legislative assembly elections from Mangaluru South constituency here on Thursday April 20.

Before filing the nomination, Lobo offered pooja rituals and took blessings at Kudroli Gokarnatheshwara temple in the presence of party representatives and supporters.

Later, a large number of people gathered for a procession from Kudroli temple to Mangaluru City Corporation office where Lobo filed his nomination.

Prior to submitting the nomination papers, Lobo visited religious centers like church, temple and mosque.

After filing the nomination, speaking to media Lobo said, “Development of the city is my priority. After Bengaluru, Mangaluru is a well-developed city. The youth of the city should get employment. Irrespective of caste and religion, people should live in harmony. I will work to protect the principles of the Indian Constitution. All people should lead a peaceful life. Investors should come forward to invest in the city-based projects through which youth will get employment. Also, it will prevent the youth from going out of the city in search of jobs. If elected, I will also work to maintain the law and order situation in the city.”

Congress leader Ivan D’Souza, Shashidhar Hegde, Bhaskar Moily and others were present.

    It has been widely accepted and recognized by Mangalorean that Mr. J.R Lobo has worked hard for the development of Mangaluru city. Given the chance again definitely he will enhance Mangaluru city image. I have witness once he visited the funeral and pay respect to the nation’s fallen soldiers. It’s very kid of him.     JR Lobo is sincere, able candidate for Mangalore city. He got his own followers irrespective of different religion. It is difficult to defeat BJP candidate as money power and religion play a big role. I think Lobo Sirs supporting street vendors will not go well with Mangaloreans. All politicians should survey common people before election and ask them what is their priority. Till now not a single congress karyakarta or volunteers visited people. They have lakh of volunteers..

    Honest upright leader with highest integrity, He must win this election. Other party leaders are yet to prove their usefulness to society. Let’s use our common sense and don’t let caste religion mislead our people. Vote for right candidate. Lobomam is a true leader and he has proven track record. Don’t let people from Bangalore and other ghat region call our people …… nick names. Let’s use our intelligence and high % of education guide us make right decisions

    A huge crowd with congress flags flying higher and higher.The sun was too hot and and the sweat pouring down under the direct sunlight.But everybody managed not only young but old and aged people too.That was the real love towards congress.
