Mangaluru: Central market renovation - Heap of mud collapses, nine labourers injured

Mangaluru, Mar 14: Nine labourers got injured as the heap of mud gave way that was piled near the shed at central market renovation work on the late night of Monday March 13.

Smart City officials said that nine people, who were at the spot during the mud collapse, have received bruises and are given medical treatment.

The mud on one portion of the base of shed collapsed.

The labourers who were fast asleep inside the shed fell down, according to sources.

    Prior to this deep excavation Contractor should have done risk assessment (consider soil condition , adjacent structure , depth of excavation , machinery used ) to understand the hazards and potential side collapse . Accordingly Contractor should arrange bench or sloping or shoring protection by installing pile sheet to prevent further cave-in (side collapse ) during earth digging activity.

    The 40% Government will collapse like this. The demolition of Central Market structure was not needed at all. The main purpose is to earn money for whom? The MP, MLA and etc. Smart city works a total flop by "chowkidar".

    Corrupt 40Perc commission sarkar is ruling as all know. Unfortunate is people still in some kind of trance that something magical is going to happen, believing BJP and they will be rich and greatest in the world. By the the one leaped to 2nd rank in worlds richest, has now dropped down drastically, that too with intense support of BJP Govt., what will the state of chillar-pillar bhakts.
