Bantwal: Injured driver dies in road mishap at Talapady, pet cat too passes away

Bantwal, March 13: The driver who was critically injured in a collision between a pick-up van and a car on the Talapady, Mangaluru – Bengaluru national highway succumbed to his injuries.

The pick-up van, which was laden with wooden logs on the road beside the Talapady bus depot, entered the highway and rammed the car that was approaching from the opposite direction near the B C Road crossing.

Brahmarakudlu resident Rajesh Shetty who was critically injured was shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru, but he died without responding to treatment.

Rajesh Shetty’s pet cat was sick. He had taken the cat to a veterinary doctor and was returning home with the medicines when the accident occurred. The cat also died on the spot.
