Bantwal: Car hits two-wheeler, one dead, another suffers grievous injuries

Bantwal, Mar 13: A pillion rider died and the rider of two-wheeler was seriously injured as a car hit their vehicle from behind at Rayi on Sunday March 12 night.

The deceased is identified as Chandrashekhar, an electrical contractor, a resident of Bantwal bypass. Rider Idli Yogish, a resident of Bantwal was seriously injured.

Yogish was riding the two-wheeler from Siddakatte to Bantwal at around 11 pm on Sunday when the car rammed from behind. Chandrashekhar who was riding pillion, was thrown on the road and died on the spot.

Yogish also received serious injuries on his head and is admitted in hospital. It is said that over speeding and negligent driving on the part of the car driver is the cause of the accident.

Melkar traffic SI Murthy visited the spot and registered a case.
