Lord Hanuman picture back on HAL super fighter jet model Maruth HLFT-42

Bengaluru, Feb 17 (IANS): The picture of Lord Hanuman on HAL super fighter jet model Maruth HLFT-42 which was removed on the second day of the Aero India Show 2023 in Bengaluru following a controversy, was back on the last day of the show on Friday.

The picture of Lord Hanuman was embossed on the tail of the HLFT-42 aircraft model. The picture also had the tagline "the storm is coming". When asked about the intention behind the sticker, HAL CMD C.M. Ananthkrishnan just stated, "we had put the sticker just to depict the power of the aircraft, but after an internal discussion, we decided not to have it so we removed it."

It was a simple thing and was based on the previous trainer aircraft 'Marut' but we saw some interpretations. The project is still in the initial stage and we only wanted to focus on the project, he said.

The controversy arose after Union Minister for Mine, Coal, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi had tweeted about the Lord Hanuman picture and expressed his happiness over it. Taking a line of the prayer dedicated to Lord Hanuman, Pralhad Joshi also shared the pictures of Maruth HLFT 42, a super jet model. "The picture of Bajrangbali (Lord Hanuman) is specially highlighted on the jet," he said.

The pictures of the model of Maruth super jet went viral on social media stirring a debate on printing the Hindu God's image on the fighter jet. Some progressive thinkers objected that the armed forces should not have any religious representations which would affect the morale of the soldiers.

HAL after noticing the controversy had removed the picture of Lord Hanuman putting an end to the debate. However, Lord Hanuman's sticker coming back again is likely to stir a controversy.

The HLFT-42 is called Hindustan Lead in Fighter Trainer which is regarded as the 'Next Generation Supersonic Trainer'. HAL is displaying the model for the first time at the Aero India Show 2023.

The jet is expected to play a critical role in modern combat aircraft training with state-of-the-art avionics like Active Electronically Scanned Array, Electronic Warfare Suite, Infrared Search and Track with Fly by Wire Control system.

Does this also fly with gaumuthram instead of jet fuel? HAL super fighter jet just made me laugh. This is a low class trainer which is not even built yet. And offcouse engine, flight controls, landing gear, ejection seat etc will be imported from western countries. Pic is alreay in the back of old autos, hero honda splenders and old indica cars on the road, now in this jet trainer which make sense

This is matter of defence of country and should not ne mix religious prism , it is great achievement to make aircraft despite sanctions from advanced nations which keep technology denial for developing nations. The fighting aircraft with hauman sticker will alert the pakistani birds ehich will alert the air force of pakistan eating pindi chana and gassing the building. Instead of hanuman if suleiman sticker is attached the secular credentials of the aircraft will be evident

GTRE GTX-35VS KAVERI An Indian design, the Kaveri was originally intended to power production models of the HAL Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) being built by the Aeronautical Development Agency. However, the Kaveri programme failed to satisfy the necessary technical requirements or keep up with its envisaged timelines and was officially delinked from the Tejas programme in September 2008. HAL TEJAS The intended engine, the GTRE GTX-35VS Kaveri, had to be replaced with an off-the-shelf “foreign” engine, the General Electric F404 The GE F404 made by U.S. jet engine maker General Electric was selected as a suitable candidate for the fighter jet as it is already in use in Boeing F/A 18, Lockheed Martin F-16 (some variants), Lockheed F-117. https://www.studyiq.com/articles/end-kaveri-engine-project-free-pdf/ Aajkal kaunsa maal phook rahe ho? 🤣

This is wrong! A deity of a particular religion is more important than someone else's. Tommorow somebody else will ask to to put Jesus's or Buddha's photo. What will be done then?

Why no Savarkar and Godse’s picture who are real personalities existed while Hanuman is a Anumana personality only in story books after 1575. No mention of Rama, Sita and Pandavas during Buddha, Emperor Ashoka, and Kanishka times in history books or in Buddha’s teachings. After 1575 after it was written the names appeared in history books only as worshipping thier idols but still no mention of thier existence.

FYI, Vidhya shanker temple built during Vjayanagar empire was dedicated to Lord Shiv by then pontiff. There are mythological Hindu Gods and Godesses sculptures of Shiv etc but not of any Mahabharata and Ramayana characters.
