Tulu thriller ‘Detective Divakar’ wraps up shooting

Mangaluru, Sep 18: Coastalwood, once largely associated with comedy films, is now witnessing the emergence of movies across a variety of genres. Several films that moved beyond comedy and experimented with different storytelling styles have found success, encouraging new filmmakers to bring fresh stories to the screen. One such attempt is the upcoming Tulu film ‘Detective Divakar’.

Young director Sunil Kadtala is venturing into the rare detective-thriller genre in Tulu cinema through Detective Divakar. Detective thrillers are uncommon in the Tulu film industry, making the effort of this new team noteworthy.

According to the filmmakers, the story uncovers secrets hidden beneath the calm atmosphere of the coastal region and is expected to provide audiences with a thrilling cinematic experience.

The film, produced under the Vibha Productions banner by Amruta U Rai and Sunil Shetty, has already completed its shooting schedule. The team is currently busy with dubbing work. Along with directing the film, Sunil Kadtala has also worked with Vinesha Poojary and Sainath Perdoor as assistant directors.

The movie features Sunil Kadtala, Shivani Naik, Nayana Saliyan, Sanketh Kulal, and Sunil Shetty in key roles. Shooting was held in Karkala, Udupi, Mangaluru, Chikkamagaluru, Kalasa, and Bengaluru.

The cinematography is by Santosh Kulal, while the music has been composed by Karthik Mulki and Mohan P Nair.
