Mangaluru Jan 27: The two-day long Mangala Magnus Cup 2023, the first ever inter physiotherapy college box cricket league for boys and girls was inaugurated here at Mangala Magnus artificial turf ground Neermarga on Friday, January 27 under the auspices of Mangala College of Physiotherapy.

Speaking on the occasion, district surgeon and medical superintendent, Wenlock Hospital, Dr Sadashiv Shanbhogue said, "Such tournaments will help you to know each other. It will also help you to develop leadership qualities, team work and time management. I urge the students to play in good sportsmanship."

Physical education director, Shree Gokarnanatheshwara College, Dr Jayaprakash; president, IAP Karnataka, former syndicate senate member, RGUHS, Dr U T Ifthikar Ali, chairman, Mangala Group of Institutions, Dr Ganapathi P, vice chairman Dr Anitha G Bhat, dean Prof Pratijna Suhasini G R and others were present.

As many as 29 college teams took part in the tournament.

Organising chairman, Mangala Magnus Cup, Dr Bharath K H welcomed the gathering, Anjali compered the event and coordinator, Mangala Magnus Cup, Ranjith Poojary proposed a vote of thanks.
