Kasargod, Jan 26: Bedadka police have intensified investigation into the mysterious deaths of Narayani (45), wife of tourist bus driver Chandran and his daughter Srinanda (12), seventh grade student of Kudanguli government school.

Police said, according to the preliminary investigation report, Srinanda was strangled with a rope and later a pillow or some other object was used to suffocate her and make sure that she is dead.

During the post mortem of Srinanda’s body, marks of rope were found on her neck. That is why mortal remains of both mother and daughter were taken to Pariyaram medical college for post mortem. According to the post mortem report, it is confirmed that Srinanda was murdered.

It is suspected that Srinanda was killed by strangulation by mother Narayani, who later killed herself by hanging. However, this is not confirmed yet. Police are interrogating Narayani’s husband Chandran, relatives and others to arrive at a logical conclusion.

Chandran had been to Ooty on a tourist bus. During his absence, wife Narayani and daughter Srinanda were found dead inside their home under mysterious circumstances.
