Beltangady, Dec 17: In a shocking incident, an eight-year-old child was kidnapped by a gang from a playground near Ujire. After kidnapping the child, the gang who came in a white car fled the scene and drove ahead towards Charmadi.
Since the word about the kidnapping has quickly spread around, there is apprehension that the miscreants may change the number plate of the vehicle. People have been requested to inform the nearest police station in the event they come across a speeding white vehicle near Charmadi, Dharmasthala and Mangaluru with a child in it.
