Udupi: KFB Bake Studio's cake event marks ICYM Udyavar golden jubilee celebrations

Udupi, Nov 22: Ahead of Christmas, the traditional age-old practice in Christian households of 'Christmas cake mixing ceremony' was organised by the brand new KFB Bake Studio, part of Kemmale Group in association with golden jubilee celebration committee of Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Udyavar. The ceremony was held at St Francis Xavier Church hall Udyavara here on Saturday, November 21.

Fr Rolwin Noronha parish priest St Francis Xavier Church, Udyavara speaking on the occasion said, "We all have been through difficult days in 2020 due coronavirus pandemic. Let Jesus Christ bring happiness and joy in everyone's life. Let the coronavirus end by the help of vaccines soon, " he wished.



Wilfred D'Souza, president, Souharda Samithi, Udyavar wishing the Kemmale Group said, "I hope many such great programmes are conducted by the Bake Studio in days to come. Let this reach even greater heights."

Don Karkada, partner of Bake Studio speaking to Daijiworld said, "Like every year we have organized traditional cake mixing ceremony marking the arrival of the harvest season. During this festival, lots of fruits and nuts were harvested and prepared which will go into the making of the traditional plum cake. We want to cherish the celebration because it sets the festive mood in. We are using dry fruits like cashews, pistachios, dates, grapes, cherries and almonds, which are soaking in rum and wine with other fresh fruit juice. After the mixing process, it will be kept for 21 days to undergo fermentation so that the flavour and aroma of the cake get developed. Once that is done the cake will be prepared. We are also allowing customers to pre-book the orders. On these orders, they will be able to avail a 15% discount and we will prepare their favourite flavoured plum cakes."

Michael D'Souza, president of the golden jubilee celebration committee of ICYM Udyavar presided over the programme.

Stevan Colaco in-charge, golden jubilee ICYM, Udyavara hosted the programme.
