Bantwal: Three held for cockfight gambling in Salethur; cash, roosters seized

Bantwal, Jun 16: Acting on credible information about an illegal cockfight gambling activity, a team from Vittal police station led by sub-inspector Ramakrishna conducted a raid at a public hillock area in Salethur village and apprehended three persons.

The accused have been identified as Lathesh Kumar (37), a resident of Boliyar, Suresh Nayak K (63), a resident of Manchi, and Dayananda (40), a resident of Vittalpadanur.

During the operation, the police seized Rs 1,550 in cash, believed to have been used for betting, along with three roosters used in the gambling activity and other related materials.

A case has been registered at the Vittal police station, and further investigation is underway.
