Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, Oct 29: An attempt to kill Dinesh, owner of Trisha Studio at Farangipet, was made by a gang of four youngsters. Three of them have been held and hunt for the other is on.

The three men have been identified as Mohammed Arshad (19) Abdul Rehman (22) and Mohammed Saifuddin (22), residents of Ammemar.

Four young men visited the photo studio of Dinesh at 7.15 pm on Wednesday October 28 in the guise of customers desirous of getting themselves photographed. One among them suddenly attacked Dinesh with a sabre, expressing anger at the fact that Dinesh had supported the family of a female child relating to a case of sexual harassment of the child at Kumpanamajalu recently. Dinesh suffered injuries to his head, right hand and left side of the abdomen in this savagely attack.

A person named Shekhar Poojary, who was at the studio then, picked a chair there in a flash and smashed it on the aggressors in order to shield Dinesh. His hand was injured in the incident. Dinesh was admitted into Al J Hospital Mangaluru where his treatment is going on. An attempt to murder case was filed in Bantwal rural police station in this respect.

A police team led by police sub-inspector Prasanna and others, working under the guidance of Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police and deputy superintendent of police at Bantwal, arrested three among them. The special team has now been looking for the absconding accused identified as Sawad.

the looks itself are frightening!! Hope the law keeps them inside at least for some time. these guys will go on to deal in drugs if left out.

No respect for females in own community as well as that of others is the biggest drawback of these people.

They attacked Dinesh because he supported the family of a child relating to the sexual harassment case. Some people always talking about women's protection are not seen here for any comment about female child protection.

It is said "Prevention is better than Cure". Unfortunately if a person receives a threat and complains to the police, the inspector at the jurisdictional police station opens a book that looks more like a telephone directory of old days, refers to Section 506 of IPC and says that it is a non cognizable offence, closes the book and you can make out that he is only too happy about it as he has to do no extra work.If police takes threats seriously many murders and assaults can be prevented.Only after a murder investigations begin and hardly any person is convicted for murder, most are let out on bail and commit repeat offences, there are hardly any watertight cases.Things have to change.
