Mangaluru: Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) organizes awareness program on NEP 2020

Mangaluru, Aug 7: Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) organized an awareness program on the National Education Policy 2020, its highlights and implications specifically on higher education to all its stakeholders on August 6 at 11.30 am through the Google Meet and YouTube.

Dr M Vijaykumar vice-chancellor gave a brief introduction about the NEP 2020 and its importance for the institutional development. The resource person was Dr Arun Bhagwath, deputy director, QAC. The deliberations were mainly on the fundamental principles of the policy, the vision of the policy, quality of universities and colleges, institutional restructuring and consolidation, holistic and multi-disciplinary education, optimal learning environments and student support, internationalization, student activity and participation, financial support, faculty capabilities, equity and inclusion, vocational education, national research foundation, new regulatory system, curbing commercialization of education, governance and leadership, impact on professional education, promotion of Indian languages in arts and culture, technology in education, online education, digital
education, adult education, financing education and implementation of National Education Policy 2020.



The awareness talk also focused on the restructuring of the Institution in light of the future implementation of NEP 2020. Categorizations of the universities, a ranking of the institutions and accreditation processes in future were also deliberated.

The awareness talk was attended 56 University officials including Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi chancellor, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) and Farhaad Yenepoya pro-chancellor, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University).
