Mangaluru, Jul 21: St Mary's PU College celebrated the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and the Foundation Day of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation on July 15 in the college auditorium with devotion and joy. The celebration began with a prayer service, prayer song, welcome dance, and the introduction of the chief guest, Sr Lenita Lobo AC, who was welcomed by principal Sr Maria Gracilda.

Students presented a skit on Prophet Elijah and the appearance of Our Lady to St Simon Stock, highlighting faith, hope, and the significance of the Brown Scapular. In her address, Sr Lenita Lobo encouraged students to value education, remain close to God and their families, and live the Carmelite values inspired by Mother Mary.

Principal Sr Maria Gracilda appreciated the efforts of the commerce students and the lecturers in charge, Mamata and Chaitra. She reflected on the mission of Venerable Mother Veronica and encouraged students to pursue education with vision, perseverance, and determination. The programme was compered by Nashwa Fathima, the vote of thanks was delivered by Mariyamma Raifa, and the celebration concluded with the College Anthem and the distribution of sweets.
