Chamrajnagar, Jul 30: Minister for primary and secondary education Suresh Kumar said that a decision is taken to announce the result of SSLC exams in the first week of August itself.

Suresh, who spoke to the scribes said, "SSLC exams were completed on July 3. The valuation of answer sheets is almost over in all the districts. The result is likely to be declared before August 6 or 8."

Speaking on the topic of dropping lesson on Tipu Sultan from the text book, the minister said, "We have a DSERT (Department of State Educational Research and Training) text book committee and the committee has taken certain decisions. Every year we used to get 240 academic days. However, this academic year we will not get that many days due to Covid-19 pandemic. We may get 120 to 140 days at the most. So it was decided to reduce the syllabus by 30%.

"The committee has mulled on the same topic that is studied by students in different classes. Based on that, they have decided to remove that portion. But accusations are being heard that certain lessons are removed deliberately. There is chaos among the general public. Some are disappointed.

"In the wake of this situation, we have withheld the matter of removal lessons and portions that was put up in our website. We will discuss on this subject in the coming days and then take a decision based on scientific approach,” he said.
