Mangaluru, Jun 30: A police personnel attached to Mangaluru rural police station has tested coronavirus positive. He was working in Ullal police station in the past.

It is gathered that an accused had contracted coronavirus infection when this person was working at Ullal station and the said man had come in contact with the accused. Therefore it is felt that the infection would have been passed on to him from the said person.

He stands admitted to a private hospital.

The rural police station here is located at Vamanjoor in the city outskirts. Already ten persons attached to Ullal police station have suffered from this infection.

Infection to prisoner

An inmate of the central prison in the city has tested positive for COVID-19. The prisoner in question was suffering from psychological disorders. He was being treated in the district Wenlock Hospital. There is suspicion that he would have got the infection from the hospital staff.

As a precautionary measure, police personnel who was accompanying the prisoner has been quarantined.

    I see lots of policemen without masks.. just speaking openly with public.. some wear masks for their neck.
    Some use it on their chin...
    Masks are dirty as usual.....
    This is the same way they operate with prisoners as well.
    When police men in other states and districts have contacted the disease, these people should also act carefully and be more responsible.

    No one is following any rules.. politicians, policemen... hospital personals as well.

    Garbage country..

    District administration totally slowed down the sanitizing and quarantine process. No sanitization for the lorries carrying fish and other goods espesially from Chennai resulted in corona on fish vendors. No night patrol or inspection on these activities because the officials don't fetch much in this. Carelessness and chaltha hai attitude of administration main cause of case burst in this area. Time to wake up for our representatives.
