Bengaluru: Class 1 to 10 exams, admissions for academic year 2020-21 put off till April 20

Bengaluru, Mar 26: Department of Public Education of government of Karnataka has issued a circular with regards to the postponement of activities related to exams and admissions for the academic year of 2020-21.

The circular says, "The exams of 7th to 10th standard students in the state was postponed to March 31 and the period was announced as study holidays as per the circular of March 14. However, as the coronavirus pandemic is spreading in the state and also for the fact that the prime minister of the country has announced lock down of the whole country till April 15, the exams of 7th to 10th standards, admission under RTE and admissions for the academic year 2020-21 have been postponed till April 20."

The circular further says that the revised time table and dates of all the activities pertaining to education mentioned above will be published after April 20.

The department of education has also asked the headmasters/headmistresses and administrative board of schools to convey the same to the students as well as their guardians.

    Why unnecessary postponing the exams, the government should have allowed the exams to go on as per schedule. there are only limited people are going to move around during the exams. other than students they should not have allowed any one else near the exam centres.

    if the situation continues like this we don't think any exam is going to take place or not, in that case let them pass all the students based on their preparatory exams performance.

    Is examination for kids the need of the hour or the health of the nation?

    Sky will not fall down if the examinations are called off or postponed.

    Let us see the children healthy and they come up in flying colors after the situation dilutes.
