Mangaluru, Sep 17: Lourdes Central School, Bejai, has long upheld the spirit of service through its Charity Mission Drive, reaching out to those in need and encouraging students to practise compassion through action. The first phase of the 2026 drive was held from August 28 to September 3, bringing the school community together to share what they have and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Celebrating the spirit of the Nativity Feast, Ganesh Chaturthi and Eid Milad, the LCS Charity Mission Phase I 2026 turned festive joy into meaningful giving. Students and staff came together to share, care and spread hope, collecting essential items such as groceries, clothes, toys and other necessities. With the theme of “Sharing Hope, Spreading Joy”.
With the generous support of the Lourdes community, contributions worth nearly Rs 5 lac reached nine charitable institutions such as Little Sisters of the Poor, Maroli; Prem Sadan, Kadri; Daya Special School, Beltangady; Riya Foundation, Kulshekar; Karnataka Public School, Attavar; Ashraya, Bejai; Sainika Seva Ashram, Manjeshwar; Bharat Seva Ashram, Bantwal; and Catherine and Roman Blind School, Urwa, benefiting around 1,110 people. Adding to the joy, games and stationery worth Rs 83,000 were distributed to 525 students of St Francis Xavier School, Bejai, and Lourdes High School, Bejai.
Beyond giving, the mission was about connecting hearts and touching lives.
Students, parents and staff joined hands, turning generosity into a shared responsibility. Each contribution carried a message of care, dignity and hope.
Together, the Lourdes community showed that kindness, when shared, leaves a lasting mark.
