Kundapur, Dec 10: Karnataka justice board stayed the suspension order of Dr Robert Rebello who has been serving as the chief medical officer in Taluk hospital here. Dr Rebello has resumed work on Tuesday, December 10.

Dr Rebello’s room was locked when he came on Tuesday morning. Therefore, he had to remain out for some time. The door was opened after chief medical officer in-charge arrived. Local leaders welcomed Dr Rebello to the hospital presenting flower bouquets.

Dr Rebello said, “He is the hospital doctor and will continue adjusting with the hospital staff. “But the doctors and staff should respect their work and serve. I intend that all the doctors who are paid by the government, should attend duties on time and work sincerely. People have not complained about the hospital during my service period,” he clarified.

“I was suspended on fictitious grounds upon oral complaints against me. But there was no written complaint. I have not committed any mistake. I sought help from Karnataka justice board which has ordered a stay on the suspension,” he said.

“I will work for the development of the hospital. If I have to go from here, I will go out in proper manner. Some people had conspired that I should leave with a blot on my career. But that will not work,” he said, indirectly hinting at some doctors in the hospital.

Mahila Santwana Kendra president Radhadas Kumbhasi in her reaction said that all the doctors do not come to the hospital on time. “Strict action needs to be taken against them. A committee should be formed in the participation of public for the development of the hospital and up gradation of hospital services,” she said.

The moment one joins Government duty, they think nobody can touch them. There must be system of hire and fire policy like in private organisations. If a person is not attending duty on time always he must be punished. By taking the tax payers money they are paid and the tax payers has to watch them for their punctuality.
