Two illegal laterite stone quarries in Sattari raided by officials

Sattari, Oct 11: Two illegal laterite stone quarries were raided by officials on Thursday. The raid was conducted after the officials received complaints from locals about the quarry operating illegally in the village.

The two quarries raided were located in Guleli and Malpan villages in Sattari. Two trucks were seized and handed over to Valpoi police for investigation.

The locals have expressed their anger over the illegal transportation of laterite from their village on a large scale.



Although the officers conducted raids on the spot, no one has been detained yet. However, an official report on the same will be submitted by the Sattari mamlatdar to the mines department.
