Mangaluru, Sep 8: Hitherto deputy commissioner (DC) of Dakshina Kannada district, Sasikanth Senthil, who was regarded as an efficient and honest IAS officer, had resigned from his post on Friday September 6. Thereafter he has been staying away from the media glare and others and therefore has kept the people guessing about his future moves. 

There was information that Senthil had planned to go to Chennai directly after his resignation. But it is learnt that he was in the city till Saturday morning and then left to an unknown destination in a private car. Sources say that he is still inside the district, but his current place of stay is unknown. 

Senthil's resignation has not yet been officially accepted and it is learnt that as per rules, the government can take two weeks or more time to take a decision on the resignation. At the same time, the list of transferred IAS officers released by the government on Friday had the name of Sasikanth Senthil. 

On Saturday morning, Senthil, who was in the city, was available for contact of some media persons. It is said that he expressed about his readiness to discuss the issues which led to his resignation. There was news that a number of political leaders and people's representatives had contacted him and pressurized him to reconsider his surprising decision to resign. Thereafter, his cell phone remained switched off.
