Mangaluru: Sasikanth Senthil remains elusive after resignation

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Sep 8: Hitherto deputy commissioner (DC) of Dakshina Kannada district, Sasikanth Senthil, who was regarded as an efficient and honest IAS officer, had resigned from his post on Friday September 6. Thereafter he has been staying away from the media glare and others and therefore has kept the people guessing about his future moves.

There was information that Senthil had planned to go to Chennai directly after his resignation. But it is learnt that he was in the city till Saturday morning and then left to an unknown destination in a private car. Sources say that he is still inside the district, but his current place of stay is unknown.

Senthil's resignation has not yet been officially accepted and it is learnt that as per rules, the government can take two weeks or more time to take a decision on the resignation. At the same time, the list of transferred IAS officers released by the government on Friday had the name of Sasikanth Senthil.

On Saturday morning, Senthil, who was in the city, was available for contact of some media persons. It is said that he expressed about his readiness to discuss the issues which led to his resignation. There was news that a number of political leaders and people's representatives had contacted him and pressurized him to reconsider his surprising decision to resign. Thereafter, his cell phone remained switched off.

central feku government is diluting the executive branch of democracy...legislature, judiciary and executive are 3 pillars on which democracy stands...press freedom is the fourth pillar...now what our vishwa guru government has done is recruiting laterals (non IAS and non Govt service) from open market to be posted as Joint Secretaries in Govt departments..9 people already selected for this lateral recruitment...there are 2 - 3 issues here...these people owe their appointment to proximity to RSS / BJP...will be like minions of the Government...second is, he will be on contractual appointment, contract renewal being in the hands of his master...contract non-renewal will be a Damocles sword hanging over their heads throughout their appointment which will make them cringe before the political masters...net effect politicians will have puppets as senior civil servants with these officers owing their appointment, continuation and renewal to the good books of politicians...so Judiciary (administration) will be no longer independent...third, this recruitment process will demotivate IAS officers because their future will be pawned to the lateral politically appointed bosses, not only that career advancement will slow down for promotion of IAS officers, because laterals are being recruited above their heads...

Went through his letter after serious prodding from Rudolf Baab ...
One he says ...The reason is purely personal.
Two he says....Democracy is in danger.
The second statement should not have come from a I.A.S. officer honestly if you ask me....who had served in an IFFY situation if 14 months of coalition Government in the State !
Appears to be a very confused personality ...
