Kasargod: GoAir to operate flights from Kannur to Dubai from Jul 25

Daijiworld Media Network - Kasargod (SP)

Kasargod, Jul 6: Direct flight to Dubai from Kannur will be available for passengers from July 25 onward. There were no direct flights from Kannur to Dubai from Kannur airport, which became functional on December 9, 2018.

Directorate General of Civil Aviation has permitted the company to operate daily direct flights to Dubai. GoAir also has bagged permission to operate flights from Kannur to Kuwait from July 29 onward.

Passengers, particularly those residing in north Kerala working in the Gulf had been demanding for direct flights from Kannur to Dubai since the airport was commissioned.

It is said that non-renewal of bilateral contract agreement by India and UAE had become an impediment in introducing the flight so far.

    I am surprised at comments blaming the government for private airlines not starting new routes out of Mangalore. If there is yield and profit to be made, airlines will start flying to new destinations. Fact is Mangalore toGulf sector is low yielding and seasonal market. So airlines prefer routing traffic via their hubs instead of losing money by flying direct flights.

    Moreover why should Govt of India waste taxpayers money (bade boregowda) to pay for vacation of NRIs who do not even pay taxes in India while warning tax free money in Gulf?

    @Roger

    NRIs remitted USD.80 Billion to India in 2018, due to which Indian Rupee was saved from falling to 150 per USD on account of bad monetary policies of Modi govt.

    Are NRIs to be blamed for the fall of Air India, King fisher, Jet Airways etc.??

    The rest of your views claiming NRIs do not pay taxes in india, only proves your utter ignorance on the subject..

    Jai Hind!!!

    For people who believe NRI's don't pay tax:- Please get some knowledge. NRI's pay more tax compared to an Indian Citizen.
    If a person working in Kerala gets a salary of 20,00 K per month, the same person can makes 200,000 K per month from gulf and he send 100,000 K minimum back to India after his expenditure, which his relatives spend in India and pay tax for their spend.
    Salary in gulf is very high and that is why Kerala people getting educated and get job in gulf. The whole country get benefit from that. starting from Airline companies, Airport staffs, Taxis, Merchants, Real estate, Builders, Labors, etc.. all.

    Malayalees are more inteligent in their State and elsewhere. Just like Tamils in Tamilnadu and worldwide. Karnataka is my state and i am proud as a Kannadiga ...to live along with various languages Kannada,Konkani,Tulu,Kodava,Beary..etc. But we have to be alert as other languages want to destroy our own Tulunadu.
