Mysuru: Kumaraswamy unleashes wrath against media, hints at new law

Daijiworld Media Network - Mysuru (MS)

Mysuru, May 19: "Media has constantly tortured me since he time I have formed the government. Have you ever written one good work that I have done?" questioned chief minister H D Kumaraswamy to the media persons.

Kumaraswamy was speaking to the media on Sunday, May 19 in the city. He further said, "The people of Mysuru district did not elect the political leaders on the basis of their caste. Of late, caste politics is making inroads in Mysuru also. People of the district have seen Siddaramaiah who has presented 13 budgets and leaders who have faced 13 elections.

Expressing his ire on the media, the CM said, "I am not going near the media. I know it is dangerous to go near them. The journalism ethics of yesteryears are remaining only in the print media. When I see electronic media I get scared. Some people conduct panel discussion on the electronic media as if they are carrying all the responsibility in this world."

"You utilize us for your TRP. I am mulling to bring in a law on the media. What do you think of politicians?" said Kumaraswamy taking his rage on the scribes.

Expressing his anger on the media, Kumaraswamy further said, "The media people make comedy programmes on politicians. Half an hour comedy soap 'Ellidiyappa Nikil' is being relayed now. I will not speak about the reporters. I will speak to the editors.

"If you cannot run the channel close it. Electronic media people make assumptions and create news. You are doing the job of spoiling the society. I do not even turn my face towards the media. Do whatever you want.

"Media is saying that I am not speaking to them due to the defeat faced by my son Nikhil. Our family is the one that has gone from panchayat to the level of Prime Minister. Our family is not the one which will inflate or deflate because of the wins and defeats in politics. I have not come to power from the media. Media should give up making only stories about us. Do some people-friendly programmes. Why I am speaking all this because this is a programme meant for the media. There is no opportunity for me to speak all this elsewhere.

"We are devotees of God. What is wrong in visiting temples? If we go to temples you call it as 'temple run' for the sake of elections. Why Modi is doing penance at Badrinath? He is sitting there because after May 23 his seat may start shaking. Why do you have to say to that?" he said.

Reacting to the query on Mallikarjun Kharge should have been the CM of Karnataka, Kumaraswamy said, "I spoke this during the election campaign at Chincholi. You are making story that it is an attempt by me to create rift between Kharge and Siddaramaiah. We are seeing news that the coalition government will face problems. But the government is still running under the guidance of Siddaramaiah.""

"What do you think of politicians" is the question of the millennium. Even under this veiled threat, the truth is that all we know about politicians and politics also has changed over a period of time to the worst. It is now a money making business. Dirty dynasty politics with scant respect to ethics and etiquette should end here. It is the travesty of democracy that a leader with 10% strength in legislature can dream of becoming a Chief Minister of the state.

Finally one sensible talk from our CM . These media irrespective of which party they are supporting is making disservice to the society. They are ruining the faith of the people on political systems of India. The alternative for Politicians and Democracy is Dictators ans Anarchy .. it’s for people of India to choose which the best . For me the worst of politician is far better than a best of dictator . To must encourage democracy and celebrate it for Indians growth and for sustainance of our freedom. 8525

We are losing faith in Political system in India, why ? Because there is no democracy in existing party Politics. Grass root level Political workers are utilised only for canvassing or for publicity stunts like harthal, Procession etc etc, District level Presidents are chosen from the Ministers loyalists group. He may hold more than 2 port polios. who bothers? Party tickets are distributed within their family members. Chair person is Mother, Son is President and Daughter is General Secretary. Grand fathers, sons and grand sons are given preferential party tickets to contest side lining the loyal party workers. Is there any limit on Parties in India ?

Politicians are allowed to contest from multiple locations. Why ? Generally we all know how they have Professionalised the representation for the people by the people concept. They are masters manipulating the Cast and Religion system in India. Who divided us ? First of all they do not retire, they do not allow other than their near and dear ones to occupy the power chair. After their term in office they want Pension, perk and respect. Then how can you expect us believe in our Political system. Democracy is fit for the people who are decently educated. We are far far behind, why because Politicians do not want us to be educated.
