Modi in Bengaluru - blasts Congress for 'anti-India' poll manifesto

Bengaluru, Apr 14 (IANS): In a strident attack on the Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday termed its poll manifesto "anti-India" and playing with the future of the country.

"The Congress, if elected, has promised to change the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) in Kashmir, which will weaken our fight against terrorism," said Modi at a massive BJP rally here ahead of the Lok Sabha elections's first phase in Karnataka on April 18.

Terming the Congress itself "anti-national", he alleged that the party that ruled the country for over 50 years was talking in favour of Pakistan by assuring in its manifesto of withdrawing troops from Jammu and Kashmir.

"The Congress wants to send our troops to the gallows by diluting the AFSPA and make the country's border porous by withdrawing the army from J&K.

"The Congress wants to keep the fire Pandit Nehru stoked in Kashmir for which the country is still paying heavy price. It has kept quiet when its ally National Conference said there should be a separate Prime Minister for Kashmir. How can India have two Prime Ministers?" he asked.

Exhorting the electorate, especially the first-time voters and millennials to reject the Congress, Modi urged them to vote for the BJP's lotus symbol to have once again a "mazboot" government than a "majboor" government of "unworthy parties".

Claiming credit for granting One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme to ex-servicemen, who waited four decades for it, Modi said his BJP-led NDA government cared as much for the armed forces as for farmers, rural and urban people, women and youth across the country.

"When we came to power with majority by your blessings, we ordered 2.8 lakh bullet-proof jackets to protect jawans at the borders from enemy fire, fulfilling a long-pending demand on which the Congress-led UPA government did not act though it was in power for 10 years," he alleged.

Listing achievements of his government during the last five years, Modi said the country progressed faster than it had over the decades due to its "clear vision, commitment, hard work and correct policies".

"I am not boasting but the results are there for all to see. Take any area or sector and compare its growth or development at a pace that was unheard of in the past. Be it infrastructure, power, roads, highways, railways, airways, ports, broadband, telecom, internet penetration and ease of doing business," he said.

Seeking votes for another term, Modi said he was committed to work towards ease of living from ease of doing business so as to improve the quality of life and raise the profile of the people and build a new India.

Earlier, addressing a massive party rally at Mangaluru on the west coast, about 330 km from here, Modi said the BJP manifesto had promised to ensure storage and infrastructure for fishermen under the Matsya Sampada Yojana.

"There will be a dedicated minister for fisheries when we form the government again after the general elections. Financial aid will be given for upgrading deep sea trawlers and fishermen will be equipped with Naval Messaging Receiver device to get alerts," he added.

Imran Khan has said if the next government in India were led by the Congress party, it might be "too scared" to seek a settlement with Pakistan over Kashmir, fearing a backlash. "Perhaps if the BJP - a right-wing party - wins, some kind of settlement in Kashmir could be reached," Imran Khan was quoted as saying by news agency Reuters.

Pakistan has officially allied with Modi! A vote for Modi is a vote for Pakistan,".
Why does Pakistan want Modi-Ji to win?
PM Modi, please tell the nation how deep your relationship is with Pakitan? All Indians should know that if PM Modi wins then crackers will be burst in Pakistan,"?

Modiji, first love Nawaz Sharif and now Imran Khan loves you! Now calls Congress 'anti-India' .

Modi Ji people want answers to all the promises made in 2014 by the BJP and especially Modi.

"This government has been a failure on all fronts and has inflicted pain and misery on the people through its reckless decisions of demonetisation and hasty imposition of a flawed GST, demonetization and GST disrupted the economy, trade and industry, led to closure of lakhs of factories and tens of millions of workers lost their jobs and livelihood. The unprecedented joblessness, agrarian crisis and distress of farmers and agricultural laborers are issues of grave national concern. The Modi government is guilty of monumental mismanagement of the Indian economy.

No accountability at all for corruption during the last five years. Corruption has become rampant across the country. After the next Govt is formed all the skeletons in the BJP vast array of hidden cupboards will be exposed including the Rafale Scam.

Modi Sarkar Ko Hatao. Desh Ko Bachao. They should be made accountable for over 100 deaths in ATM Ques after the Demoitisation.

At the 2014 elections it was Adani's 'planes that took Narendra around the country.

    Adani now has several airports!

Wonder who has donated the 'planes to Narendra this time around.

Or, is he using the Government-owned (taxpayer-funded) 'planes for the glory of a private party that he belongs to?

Congress manifesto is anti-India on fiscal security front also. Congress never follows any fiscal discipline. NDA brought down fiscal deficit to 3.5% of GDP in 2017-2018 from 4.5% of GDP of 2013-2014. Congress is well known for borrowing money from international financial bodies whether it is at union government level or at corporation level. Look at how much money MCC is borrowing from ADB without showing any improvement in drainage system in Mangaluru. Greece had become pauper by borrowing money and same thing may happen with India if Congress come back to power.
