Riyadh: DKMO organise annual successful 'Grand family Winter Festival'

Riyadh, Dec 18: The DKMO (Dakshina Karnataka Muslim Okkoota), here, conducted its annual 'Grand family Winter Festival-2017' with royal success at Al Rushid Resort, in the city. It was well organized with a huge gathering that made it the main factor of success.

DKMO is a unique organization set up in Saudi Arabia, here with an intention to support the families of deceased NRIs in case of sudden death of their breadwinners. Currently, DKMO has added other objectives to its expansion namely financial loan for its members, air tickets for stranded NRIs, general relief fund, micro loan to support self-employment in India and support for anti dowry marriages and campaigns.



The DKMO team spirit was very much appreciated and their efforts to support the NRI community significantly touched the hearts of the public. An awe inspiring reception welcomed the crowd to this mega event. The programme began with a stage function followed by many other fun filled indoor and outdoor activities. The stage function included recitation of holy Quaran by Hisham Bin Muhammed Ali. DKMO secretary Irfan Mani welcomed all the guests to the dais. Basheer Talapady, a vibrant spokesman compered the event with a brief introduction of the ceremony to the audience. DKMO vice president Mohammed Ali Jokatte presided over the function. Akhtar Sheikh, Ameer NRCC JF inaugurated the function and touched upon the beautiful fragrance of DKMO’s activities in his inaugural speech.

The chief guest of the event Zuhair Malik Falahi narrated the importance of charity through the verses of Quaran and Hadeeth. He elevated the significance of charity and its rewards in accordance with Islamic guidelines.

Another distinguished guest, an icon of the day Kundan Lal, regional manager Air India was an attraction in the audience. He encouraged all the youth to indulge in pro-socio activities and stressed to look into the pathetic situation of their neighbours irrespective of caste and creed.

A well-deserved eminent community thinker Sheikabba Deerah was felicitated with 'DKMO Excellence Award' for his lifetime achievement on his dedication and hard work for the betterment of the community.

Vice president Fazlurrahman Kolkar briefed the audience about the activities and future plans of DKMO. The crowd was in suspense with . An enthralling raffle draw and spot quizzes had the crowd in suspense. Quiz master Mazin introduced interesting puzzles for the children and adults, with Islamic and general questions and the winners were encouraged with dazzling gift hampers. Through the attractive mega raffle draw one of the spectators won a bumper 'Air India' return ticket. At the end of the stage programme Salman Noor conveyed the vote of thanks.

As a special event, a Duff programme was conducted by pupils of Alif International School, Riyadh. All the spectators had very mesmerizing desi feelings and recalled their olden days.

Alif International School organized a drawing competition for children of all age groups. True talents emerged with beautiful artwork and winners were awarded. All participants received consolation prizes. McDonalds team entertained the children with face painting, spot games and gift coupons.

All the guests enjoyed a sumptuous dinner of sweets, ice cream, soft drinks and fruits. As a special additive, a variety of food stalls tickled everyone's tastebuds. Sheikh Deerah and his team supervised and well managed the food arrangements.

For the ladies, lady volunteers conducted numerous activities like quiz programme, spot games and outdoor sports and distributed the fascinating prizes to all the winners.

Haneef N S, Shameer and their team enthusiastically conducted various outdoor games like tug of war, running race, dodge ball and lemon race for the children and volleyball, tug of war and pot breaking for the adults.

Bantwal Guys emerged winners of both volleyball and tug of war events and Spin Guys Malaz were runners up of both events.

This great mega 'DKMO Family Winter Festival -2017' was sponsored by Al-Muzain, Himalaya, Expertise, Fashion Line, Al-Falah, Compass Logistics, RACC, White Stone, Air India, Raisco Abubakkar, Universal, New Tech Advertising, Malabar Gold, On Dot Logistics, Samcon, and other companies and individuals.

In the closing ceremony, DKMO secretory Ismail thanked all the guests, crowd, sponsors, supporters, well-wishers, volunteers and executive members. Towards the end,the entire DKMO team pledged to utilize the fund raised from this event to support the helpless NRIs and needy people back home.

    DKMO is really doing an unique service for NRI's.
    Its objectives are excellent and FRF Scheme for NRI's are really worth..
    Hats off to DKMO and its Executive Member...
