M'luru: Lobo inspects works at Kaikamba market, Padil Bajal underpass

Mangaluru, Aug 3: MLA J R Lobo, along with MCC officials, inspected various developmental works in the city here on Monday August 3.

Bejai market and Kaikamba market:

Speaking to the reports, J R Lobo said, “The work of the market is going on in full swing. Preference is given to maintaining cleanliness in the market and in this regard various provisions are made. This market has proper fish stalls where fish can be displayed and cleaned. Already 4 crore has been spent on this market and we are expecting to finish this market by September 10. This market has 12 fish stalls, two dry fish stalls and six meat stalls. The ground floor includes vegetable, flower and other stalls”.

“Kaikamba market is one of the major weekend fair in the city. I have spoken to Karavali Abivraddi Pradikara and they have agreed to give money to develop this market. Here platform, roofs and interlocks will be made so that these vendors will have convenience in summer as well as in the rainy season”.

Padil Bajal underpass:

After the inspection, responding on the Padil Bajal underpass, MLA said, “Railway has built this underpass with Rs four crore grant given by the corporation. Half of the work is completed and another half is under process. But now the work is more challenging to the corporation, as two drain and two separate roads need to be constructed and this will require acquisition. This will cost another six crore to the corporation. In the interest of people this work will be taken up and will be discussed with the officials. Later it will be finalized as to which fund can be used for this work. We have also told the railway officials to complete rest of the work as soon as possible”. 

MCC commissioner Gokuldas Nayak, Mayor Jecintha Alfred, corporators Lancelot Pinto, Deepak Poojari, Radhakrishna, Vijay Kumar and other officials were present.
