Mangalore, Jun 28: The third edition of 'Aparoopada Samaja Sevaka Harekala Hajabba', a book by Ismath Fajir on educationist Harekala Hajabba published by Talent Research Foundation (TRF), was released at TRF hall, Kankanady here on Friday June 27.

Speaking after the releasing the book, deptuy commissioner A B Ibrahim said, "Harekala Hajabba has brought in a revolution in education and become an example for all. The district should nominate him for the Padma Shri Award."

He further said, "If you have determination and will power, you can achieve anything you want, and Harekala Hajabba has proved it. In a district that is full of business-minded and economy-driven people, Hajabba's selfless service to the cause of education is indeed commendable and worthy of emulation."

Balila Krishna Shastri, giving a brief introduction of the book, said, "Closing government schools is as good as denying the poor their right to education. Qualified and competent teachers who can efficiently teach English to students must be appointed in government schools too. The government should set up a regional language training centre in every district for this purpose."

He further said that the government should keep an eye on private schools to ensure that education does not become expensive. "While children from lower strata of the soceity are being denied opportunities in private schools, Hajabba's government school in Harekala has set an example," he said, describing Hajabba's selfless work in the field of education over the years.

Talent Research Foundation president Abdur Rauf Puttige, who presided over the programme, assured TRF's full support to Hajabba's school.

Acknowledging the honour, Hajabba said, "People have given me recognition, and media has given me ample support. Whenever I have approached people seeking support for my school, they have willingly helped me. I pray to god that He blesses them with more strength and prosperity and hope that they can extend their support in future too."

Author Ismath Fajir too spoke on the occasion.

Student achievers from financially backward families, namely Nagma Maimuna, Ravikiran Falnir, Sonia Neermarga and others were award scholarships by TRF. The newsletter of the organization was also released on the occasion.

Rafique Master compered the ceremony. Saiduddin Bajpe welcomed and while Hameed D proposed the vote of thanks.

I wish all like-minded philanthropists from this region from the Western nations and the Middle-East extend their hands to acquire 25 to 50 acres land to bring up a multi facility rural university college campus under Hajabba's human touch.

If there is a will... then there is a way.. is well suited to Harekala Hajabba. TRF and other donors are his back bones. Well Mr. Hajabba deserves more financial support in addition to moral support. Hope DC and other well to do businessmen will recognize his basic requirements.

Shri Harekala Hajabba, Pioneer in the field of education for the weaker sections of the society definitely deserves a Padmashri or Padma Vibhushan award in my honest opinion. I hope the body which constitutes short listing the names for these celebrated awards take note of this. I know, for visionaries like Hajabbaji such awards would not make even the slightest of the difference, because winners don't do things for the rewards/money. They do it for the love of the craft, because they are passionate about it, because it is their oxygen. Hats off to you Hajabbaji. Kindly accept my sincere respects and obeisance.
