Bengaluru, Sep 26: In an increasingly competitive era, setbacks in the early stages of a career need not stop those who remain determined and continue striving towards their goals. Bengaluru-based 24-year-old startup founder Akash Narayan is one such example.
Narayan is the founder of Legalit, a legal-tech startup that reportedly has an annual turnover of Rs 13 crore. He has now purchased an apartment in Bengaluru worth Rs 1.8 crore from his earnings and shared his happiness over the achievement on his Instagram account. For many people in Bengaluru, owning a home through their own efforts is a cherished dream. Narayan, who followed the same path, has fulfilled that dream by building a company.
However, he did not use the post merely to highlight his personal achievement. He remembered his family members and mentors who stood by him and encouraged him during difficult periods and when he was discouraged by failures. He said the achievement does not belong to him alone, but also to his family, colleagues, friends and mentors.
In an emotional video shared on Instagram, Narayan remembered his mother, who stood by him even when his career choices did not appear logical. He thanked his father for teaching him valuable lessons in life. He also expressed gratitude to his late grandfather and grandmother for teaching him the importance of goodness, and to his sister for teaching him humility.
"Rs 13-crore startup, a Rs 1.8-crore apartment in Bengaluru — my achievements do not end here. I have already set new goals and am preparing for the next phase," he said.
Narayan's journey from student to startup founder began early. He holds a law degree from St Joseph's College and is pursuing Data Science at Manipal University.
His professional journey began during his school days. As a student, he developed Android applications, including WebRouse and HowToTech, designed to help senior citizens understand modern technology. The initiative was recognised by Infosys.
Over the years, he has worked in technology, business development and political consultancy. His professional experience includes an internship at Nokia, a consulting role with Sphinx Tech, working as a full-stack developer, serving as Head of Growth at NK Law Associates, working as Chief Technology Officer at Report Cyber Crimes (RCC), and working with I-PAC. He was also involved in political campaign strategy with the DMK and later worked as an independent political consultant.
In December 2023, he founded Legalit, a legal-tech company that develops technology solutions for lawyers and law firms. He is also serving as a seed investor in startup Ayan.
Narayan's post received an outpouring of congratulatory messages from entrepreneurs, professionals and young aspirants. Many appreciated his decision to recognise the people behind his success rather than viewing the purchase of a home merely as a personal achievement.
